Today we spotlight Rebecca Sinn, a SoleMate for the 2016 NYC Half Marathon!
What motivated you to run in the NYC Half Marathon this year?
I had been casually getting back into running and needed a race to push me to take it up more seriously, the half was the perfect excuse!
How has running been a part of your life?
Running offers so many benefits to me, I’m a better person all around when running is a part of my life. It is a wonderful way to have some time for yourself, release stress and clear your mind.
Why did you choose to support Girls on the Run?
SELF sponsored the 5k and I was so motivated by the young girls running, I loved cheering them along and running beside them and seeing the positive influence physical activity has on girls of all ages, sizes and shapes. I was eager after this event to get more involved with Girls on the Run.
What tip do you have for other SoleMates?
You never feel better than you do after pushing yourself, so when you go to a place of No, or feel stuck, use that as motivation and you’ll feel more accomplished than you ever have.
What is your favorite running accessory?
My friend, colleague and constant source of motivation introduced me to the Flip Belt- what a great invention! Also, second skin – I’m prone to blisters, so this really helps and its not my favorite accessory but my most needed!
What is your favorite run in NYC?
Very early in the morning at the new waterfront in Brooklyn – the piers and down to Dumbo – it's such a great view of the city skyline.
