Run the 2018 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon
in support of Girls on the Run NYC!

Run 13.1 miles through Central Park & Times Square with us on March 18, 2018, and help us inspire girls! 

The SoleMate experience is not only rewarding, but also a unique volunteer opportunity! Train for the 2018 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon while raising funds for girls in New York City. Your support through fundraising is a tremendous gift, allowing us to expand Girls on the Run NYC scholarship sites and reach more girls.

Currently, more than 60% of the girls in our program come from low-income communities. Funds raised by SoleMates allows these girls scholarship and subsidy support to participate in our life-changing program, empowering them to be confident, healthy and joyful. Your support will help Girls on the Run NYC maintain our commitment to serve all girls, regardless of financial need.


As a SoleMate, you will receive great benefits while training, including:

  • A training plan for your race distance along with invitations to monthly group training runs and cross training sessions!

  • Fundraising ideas to help you surpass your goal, including individual support from our SoleMates Committee and team ideas from your fellow SoleMates.
  • Great Girls on the Run NYC gear and rewards, including a special singlet for race day!

Fundraising Commitments & Goals

Have Your Own Entry for the 2018 NYC Half Marathon:

If you already have your own entry into the 2018 NYC Half Marathon, and would like to raise funds for the Girls on the Run program in New York City, and are not seeking Guaranteed Entry into the race, please proceed by selecting the 'I already have entry into the NYC Half Marathon!' option. We ask that you fundraise $500 for Girls on the Run NYC, and you can set your goal even higher! You are not held to a fundraising commitment if you have your own entry.

Guaranteed Entry Requirements into the 2018 NYC Half Marathon includes two options:

*Guaranteed Entry Spots into the 2018 NYC Half Marathon through Girls on the Run NYC are limited!*

With all options, you must make an initial $35 fundraising gift with your credit card during this online SoleMates Registration. This $35 gift will count towards your fundraising. A minimum of $800 must be raised by February 7, 2018; if the $800 minimum amount is not raised by February 7, 2018, then the balance will be charged to your credit card.

Option A: You are responsible for your 2018 NYC Half Marathon race registration fee through New York Road Runners.
A minimum of $1,310 must be raised by March 20, 2018; if the $1,310 minimum amount is not raised by March 20, 2018, then the balance will be charged to your credit card.

Option B: Girls on the Run NYC will cover your 2018 NYC Half Marathon registration fee.
A minimum of $1,600 must be raised by March 20, 2018; if the $1,600 minimum amount is not raised by March 20, 2018, then the balance will be charged to your credit card.

By submitting a registration to run the 2018 NYC Half Marathon for Girls on the Run NYC as a Guaranteed Entry Charity Runner, you are committing to fulfill the fundraising requirement you select, and all the deadlines associated. If you do not reach the following deadlines, Girls on the Run NYC is authorized to charge your credit card based on the following:

  • If a minimum of $800 is not raised by February 7, 2018, Girls on the Run NYC is authorized to charge your credit card for the remaining balance.
  • If a minimum of $1,310 (Option A) or $1,600 (Option B) is not raised by March 20, 2018, Girls on the Run NYC is authorized to charge your credit card for the remaining balance.

Cancellation Policy: You are responsible for raising the $1,310 (Option A) or $1,600 (Option B) minimum by the deadline. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
