Meet our GOTR NYC SoleMates: 2023 TCS NYC Marathon

list of charity athletes names

Girls on the Run NYC is excited to share: this year we are hosting our largest team of Girls on the Run SoleMates running the TCS New York City Marathon in our organization's history!

Team SoleMates support and spread awareness of our mission as they train and raise funds for Girls on the Run NYC. With 95 runners gaining entry through GOTR NYC and five athletes with their own entry, we are elated to be represented and supported by such an amazing group of GOTR champions. We are excited to have SoleMates on our team from so many different places with a range of running experiences.

More than 80% of the girls in our program receive financial assistance in order to participate in our programming. Funds raised by our SoleMates allow girls to experience the empowering and transformative Girls on the Run program at no cost.

Each SoleMate has committed to raise $5,000, representing a full team of Girls on the Run participants funded by EACH SoleMate! Girls across New York City will learn and grow together in our upcoming season thanks to this support. With these critical funds, SoleMates provide GOTR participants with supportive materials like sneakers, sports bras, and materials needed to create a growth-mindset environment — and ultimately shape their end-of-season celebratory 5K experience.

If you already have your own entry into the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon and you would like to join our SoleMates team — adding even more meaning to your miles — you can learn more by visiting the SoleMates section of our website. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a SoleMate this year with your own event or in 2024 you can visit our 2024 SoleMates page.

We are grateful for our SoleMates and all that they do to help us inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident!
